transfolk final destination 4.-7.2019
Final Destination was the climax of the TransFolk Kucku 2018-19 festival, which all the previous Checkpoint events led up to. Final Destination brought together all the residency artists who participated in the festival during its two years. The four days' event consisted of art and performances in and around the TransFolk exhibition and the first ever Loviisa Pride with its attendant preparations.

Throughout the festival
- Every day 10 am Breakfast club, start the day with breakfast combined with art workshops, film screenings or discussions.
- Artistic workshops for all ages with TransFolk artists
- Film screenings at Kino Marilyn
- Sauna Obscura at Laivasilta
- Discussions and live interviews on topics such as: "Loviisa queer history" at the Loviisa City Museum; "Migration and minorities" with screenings of short films; "LGBT life outside of Finland" with artist-activists from different contexts, and "Art and accessibility: who has access to the art?"
Thursday 4.7.
TransFolk Exhibition opening in Almintalo. Works of all the artists that have participated in TransFolk festival in 2018 or 2019 including the previous Loviisa Artists' Studio residency artists, artists from Loviisa and other parts of Finland and results of workshops done in different schools in the Loviisa area. The opening party includes performances and music.
The exhibition is open until 29.9.2019.
Friday 5.7.
Workshops for all ages with TransFolk artists.
19:00 Circus art performance "The Escape Act - A Holocaust Memeoir" by Loviisa Artists' Studio residency artist Stav Meishar. Liikuntahalli. Please note that the performance might not be suitable for children.
21:00 Concert of erotic folk songs by Folk Utan Dräkt, Loviisa City Museum
Saturday 6.7.
10:00 Preparations for the Pride parade. Artists decorate people for the parade, pride parade signs workshops, etc.
12:00 Gathering for the parade
13:00 Pride Parade begins. Route to be confirmed later. The pride parade is a carnevalistic event, everyone in and around Loviisa is invited to join to show that our Loviisa is a small town with a space for all identities.
14:00 Pride Picnic
