checkpoint #2 Peace 4.-6. august 2018
In collaboration with Loviisa Peace Forum
The second Checkpoint event coincided with the Loviisa Peace Forum in August 2018 and its theme was Peace. Peace is more than the absence of war; peace is getting to be who you are, getting to live where you want to live; peace is individuals’ need and right to safety. The three-day event consisted of a children’s art festival with workshops and performances, artist talks, exhibitions, street art performances, art experiences and encounters of all kinds.
Checkpoint #2 took place in Loviisa city center, particularly the Laivasilta harbor area. The art fit among the larger program of the Peace Forum, with “Play Art” children’s art festival at the Onneli & Anneli park on Saturday culminating in the Kids’ Club concert, and with exhibitions, performances and artist talks on the other days for all audiences.
